The X-Files: Game is an adventure quest created based on the cult 90s TV series The X-Files. The limited interactivity of the project is due to the fact that the developers abandoned computer animation of the characters, completely composing the game from video episodes cut from the film. The plot echoes the events of the third season, making many pleasant references for fans of the film franchise. The script features the main characters of The X-Files - Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, although the player controls another character - a young FBI officer from Seattle, sent to search for missing agents. Partners mysteriously disappeared during the investigation of a case involving alien technology. Their trail ends in Seattle, and it is from there that the adventures of Craig Wilmore begin under the guidance of Walter Skinner, well-known to fans, who runs an organization studying extraterrestrial life forms. The director suspects that government authorities are involved in the case and turns to the feds for help.At the beginning of the game, Skinner will guide the main character, giving him instructions and information. Later, the investigation completely passes into the hands of Wilmore, since Skinner also disappears. The player's task is to collect all the links of a difficult logical chain and reveal who is behind the kidnappings. The player will have at his disposal a familiar interface for the genre with point-and-click controls and an interesting inventory, which initially contains all the necessary items: an ID, a service weapon, handcuffs, a voice recorder, a flashlight, binoculars and other equipment.
