Vampyr is an ambitious action RPG project by the French development studio DONTNOD Entertainment. The announcement took place in the summer of 2018. The project received mixed reviews from critics and gamers. Despite this, the graphics in the game are impressive, as is the wonderful dark atmosphere.

The game's plot takes us to London at the beginning of the 20th century. The main character is a doctor who becomes a victim of a vampire. Now he himself is the personification of night horror. However, the oath, taken at the beginning of his career as a medic, obliges him not to harm people. Two entities are fighting in it - the human and the monstrous.

Jonathan Reed wakes up in a cesspool for the remains and, feeling a terrible thirst, attacks his own sister. Having clarified the mind again, the hero regrets what happened and promises to reveal the reason for the unfortunate action. The interval of the events of the game falls on the epidemic of "Spanish flu" raging on the streets of London in the eighteenth years of the twentieth century.

The gameplay is presented in two main variations - either we save the population for free, or hopelessly milk it for donor handouts. Salvation requires vain running around the injured and sick in the name of their cure, the second option after recovery (or before) allows you to bite out the blood supply of patients.

Crafting and leveling will not shake the routine much, but they will still add some variety. The fights here are arranged in a very controversial way, I would like to see a more reasonable mechanics of target acquisition. The role-playing turned out to be secondary in its key meaning - history, for some reason the attention here rests on dull survive-elements.

The whole essence of the game mechanics emerges from this internal confrontation. The protagonist can do without casualties throughout the game. But if his health is badly damaged, he will simply need to get a recharge, and then, on the night streets of London in 1918, a brutal hunt for innocent people will begin.

Technically, this game is a third-person action game. Our vampire has superpowers that can be improved. He fights with both conventional weapons and tears opponents apart with his kittens and fangs.
