The gameplay of I Want to Survive is a mixture of turn-based strategy and roguelike. First, the player needs to choose a route for the squad. Often, the choice is provided from 2-3 locations. Somewhere there will be more zombies, in other places you can get supplies, and in some places you can even find living people. Upon arrival at the place, the battle starts. Allies and opponents move on initiative, can attack, defend, use the environment. And then there is a halt and a short rest before continuing the journey. However, in addition to the core of the gameplay, there are enough nuances. For example, each character is good only with a certain weapon. In addition, if you do not feed the starving at the halt, they will die forever until the next playthrough. Food is on the battle maps, along with weapons, quest items and gold. The latter is allowed to be spent on canceling the last move in the battle. Movement on the global map often depends on saved NPCs, because they open additional routes.
