Yuoni is a first-person horror game starring Ai, a shy 10-year-old schoolgirl who participates in a strange ritual with her classmates in an abandoned hospital. Like literally every such ritual in horror, it awakens the spirit of a boy named Tsun, who passed away from an illness many years ago. He then forces Ai to play hide and seek in an inexplicable, otherworldly dimension filled with creepy ghosts.There are three different enemies in the game (four if you count the boss) that are scattered throughout each level. They consist of strangely interconnected school classrooms, hallways, hospital waiting rooms, and traditional Japanese rooms. The main goal of the game is to find the doll at the end of each location, return to the starting room, and take care of the bizarre creature. When the protagonist takes the toy, a special boss entity - an inexplicable pile of floating eyes, begins to haunt him until he returns. The situation forces you to remember which path you took to get there first, while Ai's life hangs in the balance.The three types of enemies in Yuoni include the standard spirits, who have poor eyesight but can warn other enemies if the protagonist makes too much noise. Larger, more dangerous ghosts with good eyesight but poor hearing can also harm Ai. And Tsun himself, who will find the girl if she is too loud. Or his spirit, who can walk through walls. There are also environmental hazards, prompting the player to hide in a nearby closet or under furniture.The game's levels look absolutely terrifying.
