Combat Mission Cold War is a military simulation game where future commanders play out hypothetical Cold War battles. The war is set on the battlefields of West Germany in the late 70s and early 80s as part of the American NATO forces or the Soviet Warsaw Pact forces. Players will engage in battles ranging from tiny platoon-level skirmishes involving just a few units to large-scale battalion-level battles involving a wide variety of military branches. These battles can be fought in either single-player or multiplayer modes in real-time or turn-based formats.Combat Mission Cold War has a large selection of prepared scenarios for playing for any side, several campaigns with a chain of interconnected missions, as well as a quick battle mode with an extensive set of settings options, allowing you to immediately begin action. There is also a fully functional scenario editor, allowing players to create and implement their own Cold War what-if scenarios. There is also a huge variety of units, vehicles, weapons and equipment, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The differences are also factional in nature, adding additional layers to learning the intricacies of using each type of troops.
