A black and white world with eight-bit graphics is presented in Downwell, which will appeal to fans of retro games. This is a vertical platformer with roguelike elements, in which you play as a white man flying down. In essence, this is a kind of portal to a new world filled with dangers, cruel monsters and deadly traps. During the gameplay, you can gain access to new items, weapons and special techniques. We have already mentioned the stylish black and white graphics, which at some points will even make your eyes dazzle a little, but it is still implemented with taste. The gameplay is carefully designed with convenient controls, reminiscent of the atmosphere in a retro style. There is plenty of game content in Downwell, all monsters are randomly generated, as are the locations. During the flight in this portal-well, the main character will have to shoot at enemies, dodge obstacles and traps. The scenery and enemies will change, so you will have to adapt to them. Each of the enemies is characterized by its own behavioral model and to defeat him you will have to find a separate approach. You can play in slow mode, shooting at enemies from above, or just fly straight ahead, trying to dodge them. Among the disadvantages, it is worth noting the presence of a small selection of bonuses that come across after completing a stage. Basically, these will be standard first aid kits and an increase in the energy scale. Power-ups drop extremely rarely, most often they will have to be purchased for solid money.
