Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes is a third-person shooter set in a world with graphics very similar to its predecessors. A host of new enemies are introduced alongside familiar ones like pig sties and obituaries, albeit with slight tweaks. The Dukes Desert Eagle pistol is now adorned with gold, and weapons like the Combat Shotgun, Mighty Kick Boot, and Throwing Knife can be accessed without having to search for them. The knife can be thrown infinitely, making it a versatile option for combat. Users will face a mixture of old and new weapons, including freezer, flamethrower, RPG, home -made bombs, dynamite, gatling gun (now laser gatling) and energy. Additionally, new weapons are available, such as a sniper rifle, grenade launcher, shrink machine, and various alien weapons. Levels are challenging, requiring climbing, jumping, swimming, running, and other athletic movements to overcome obstacles. As in previous installments, progress often depends on finding specific items, such as keys and explosives, scattered throughout the levels. Difficulty is slightly toned down. Each defeated enemy increases the protagonist's ego, contributing to a sense of progress and empowerment. Other ego-boosting items, such as the Duke Nukem action figure and Duke's portable biography, can be collected and used at any time to bolster the character's confidence and abilities.
