GUILTY GEAR is a port of the 1998 version to modern hardware almost without changes. The plot still tells about the future, where people have discovered magic - a powerful source of energy. Having created the Mechanisms, a race of war machines, with its help, humanity almost fell to their own weapons when they gained consciousness and rose up. However, in 2180, long after the victory of humans in the war, one of the active Mechanisms tries to bring the leader of the army of living weapons back to life. To prevent him, a tournament of fighters is convened. The winner will receive the right to save humanity again. As before, the gameplay of Guilty Gear is a classic two-dimensional fighting game. Each match consists of 2 or 3 rounds, depending on their outcome. To win, you need to knock out the opponent twice. 10 characters participate in the battles, each with unique movements and abilities. Each of them has access to special Chaotic Attacks. Those are used according to the filling of the voltage scale from the damage received. In addition, the characters are able to use Sakkai - complex combinations that instantly knock out the opponent. There are only 3 game modes:

• Arcade. Here the story unfolds, and you have to fight against artificial intelligence, sometimes controlling special bosses.
• Versus. Mode for local or multiplayer battle between living players.
• Training. Provides a free game without a time limit against static artificial intelligence.
