Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins takes players into the distant future, namely, to the year 2050, when an ecological disaster occurred. As a result of this event, most of the Earth was flooded, and people were forced to evacuate to underground shelters. Amidst this, a fierce war began between two powerful parties - the Remnants and the Corporation. Each has its own strengths, and neither wants to give up a single piece of space. But at one point, the Hi-Genti appear on the scene - an alien race on the verge of extinction. They exterminate everyone who took part in the conflict and take control of the territory. Each of the parties presented in Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins has a whole range of technologies, weapons and other systems. The gamer's task is to lead one of the participants in the conflict to victory. This is a long process, so you need to start by accumulating resources, building bases and defensive structures. This does not mean that you need to sit out on your territory all the time and try to fight back with your last strength. As soon as the army has accumulated enough firepower, you can start making sorties and raids on enemy territories. Fighters are divided into several classes, differing in weapons, a set of perks and capabilities in battle. Therefore, it is necessary to be aware of what plan the squad chooses and how exactly to use the provided fighters. The Corporation, for example, has combat robots that can be used to break through defenses, and the aliens, in turn, are able to crush with numbers.
