The Outer Worlds is a science fiction game about space exploration. The user will have to travel through the endless expanses of the universe, during which he will be able to explore two completely different planets. One of them is already terraformed and ready for habitation, and the second is dangerous and inhabited by wild animals. The main character woke up from cryosleep on one of the cruisers with colonists. As it turned out, the man slept for 70 years. He participated in a program in which he was supposed to be one of the first to arrive at a remote colony almost at the edge of the universe, but for some reason the machine did not allow him to wake up in time. When the astronaut came to his senses, the new house turned out to be long inhabited and transformed by other passengers. Later, he learns that he was helped by a man who knows about the conspiracy of the company that took them on this journey. It turned out that there are other colonists who never woke up and he helps them free themselves from the shackles of sleep, but for this he is pursued by an evil corporation. In The Outer Worlds, the story is not linear and an important choice is given to the gamer at the very beginning. He can help his savior and take on assignments from him to free other people, or simply hand him over to the company for a good reward. After completing the storyline, the world remains open to players and you can move around the locations on your own ship, taking on side quests or simply admiring the views. Also, a unique system of acquired skills based on weaknesses was introduced here. For example, if a character is constantly pursued by a certain race of aliens and he gets hit on the head in most encounters, then he will develop a real phobia. Because of it, he will lose vigilance and be too afraid of the enemy, but at the same time he will gain an advantage in other areas. Thus, the protagonist becomes closer to the user, since he is not perfect and has both strong abilities and loses consciousness at the sight of a dangerous opponent.
